Dear TEAM,
I wasn’t born a leader.
I was the 2nd issue of 5 kids – so if anything, I was destined to be a follower.
But, I was lucky enough to learn leadership through the firm rules of my parents and their seamless coordination to ensure us 5 kids weren’t causing too much chaos.
From there, I found myself surrounded by great mentors throughout my career.
They taught me what leadership was, but more importantly, they showed me what leadership looked like. Especially my great father who was a special BCS cadre officer of Bangladesh Post Office as a Deputy Post Master General.
Once I understood the responsibility that came with the role, I invested more and more time into developing my skills.
I attended various leadership development programs, was part of internal job-shadowing programs, and I also earned a PGD from Dhaka University’s IBA faculty in the field of Leadership Management which helped me merge my business and leadership skills.
I put in the effort because I wanted to be the best version of myself – for my team and my family, my supporters, and myself.
I don’t believe that all leaders are born.
They are crafted through hard work, collaboration, and compassion.
Anyone has the capacity to be a leader, you must just want it badly enough and be willing to put in the work.
What are your thoughts?
Are leaders born or made? —– Supriya Kumar Chakraborty, CEO
